The brief
Skincare catalogues are hard to browse: many products look alike but do very different jobs. Skivera needed a calm, editorial brand and a shopping flow that explains products, suggests routines and makes it easy to buy. Instead of a hosted platform, it is built as a custom store with its own backend and admin.

What I did
Design
- Designed the brand look: warm neutrals, blush tones and an editorial type pairing.
- Designed category navigation, a four-step routine section and bundle offers as different ways to start shopping.
Frontend
- Built the storefront in Next.js: homepage, six product categories, product pages, offers, wishlist and bag.
- Product pages bring together imagery, size, price, ingredients, description and shipping information.
Backend & admin
- Built the backend on a Neon Postgres database.
- Built an admin panel to manage the store's products and content.
Key decisions
- 01
Shop by routine, not just by category
Alongside categories such as serums, moisturizers and sun care, a routine section explains which step each product belongs to. Shoppers who do not know product names still have a way in.

Product pages that answer the next question
Ingredients, sizes and shipping sit next to the buy button, with related products and a bundle underneath, so the page explains the product and suggests what goes with it.

Own the platform
Building the backend and admin in-house means no monthly platform fees and full control over the data model, at the cost of maintaining it. It also shows the full-stack side of the work.
